The Professional Attire Initiative is a community effort that collects new and gently used professional clothing and makes it accessible to students, job seekers, veterans, and others preparing for interviews, education, careers, and important life opportunities. Through donation stations, community closets, clothing racks, pop-up events, and local partners, we are building a lasting network of confidence, dignity, and support across Central Massachusetts.

The Timeline
October 2026: Community Collection Begins
Professional-attire donation stations will begin opening throughout Central Massachusetts. Community members will be invited to donate new and gently used clothing, shoes, and accessories.
October–November 2026: Building the Network
We will work with local businesses, schools, organizations, and community partners to establish donation stations, clothing racks, pop-up closets, referral locations, and permanent professional-attire closets.
Sponsors and partners will receive recognition as the campaign develops.
December 3, 2026: The Community Celebration
We will gather at Gardner City Hall to celebrate the people, businesses, organizations, volunteers, and supporters making this work possible.
During the event, we will officially introduce the professional-attire closet network and share how members of the community can access clothing, donate items, or become involved.
Following the Event: Continuing the Impact
The work will continue beyond December 3. Clothing will be organized and distributed, partner locations will continue developing their resources, and community members will be connected with available professional attire.
Our goal is to create an ongoing network that serves Central Massachusetts for years to come.
The History
This initiative began in 2022 with a simple goal: collect professional attire and place it directly into the hands of people who could use it.
Since then:
We have organized three professional-attire drives
More than 700 items have been collected and donated
Clothing has supported students, job seekers, veterans, and community members
Items have been distributed through shelters, churches, rehabilitation programs, community organizations, and direct referrals
Local businesses and community members have contributed clothing, time, space, services, and resources
What began as a clothing drive is now growing into a coordinated community network centered on confidence, opportunity, and long-term access.
